Delete your Famnly account

In the app

  1. Open Famnly and go to Settings.
  2. Open the You tab.
  3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

Your account is deleted at once. A subscription is not cancelled by deleting your account: cancel it in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

Without the app

If you can no longer use the app, email hello@famnly.com from the email address of your account, with the subject Delete my Famnly account. We delete the account and reply to confirm within 30 days, usually much sooner.

A parent can remove a child account from the family group in the app, or ask us to delete it the same way.

Delete some of your data, keep your account

You can delete these yourself in the app at any time:

  • Events, comments and event photos: open the event and delete it, the comment or the photo
  • Lists, tasks, birthdays and plans: delete them where you made them
  • Your profile picture: Settings, You, then change or remove it
  • A shared location: it is deleted by itself an hour after you share it
  • Connected calendars: Settings, Calendar sync, disconnect (their tokens are deleted)

For anything else, such as usage analytics linked to your account, email hello@famnly.com from your account's email address and say what you want deleted. We delete it within 30 days and reply to confirm. Nothing deleted this way is kept, except purchase records as described below.

What is deleted with your account

  • Your profile, email address, password and sessions
  • Your profile picture and the event photos you added
  • Family groups you created, with all their events, lists, tasks, plans and comments
  • Your membership in other family groups
  • Connected calendars (Google, Outlook) are disconnected and their access tokens deleted
  • Shared locations and notification tokens

What may be kept

  • Purchase records (what was bought and when), for up to 7 years as accounting law requires, held by our purchase provider RevenueCat and by Apple or Google. Nothing else of your account is kept.
  • Usage analytics linked to your account (PostHog) are not removed by the in-app deletion; we delete them within 30 days when you ask by email, and always when you ask us to delete your account by email.
