Why we built Famnly

Managing a family's schedule shouldn't require three apps, two calendars, and a sticky note on the fridge. Yet for most families, that's exactly how it works. One parent carries the mental load of knowing who needs to be where, when, and with what — while everyone else asks “wait, that was today?”

We built Famnly because we lived this problem ourselves. As parents, we wanted a shared family calendar that was beautiful enough to actually use every day, smart enough to handle grocery lists and meal plans, and simple enough for kids to check on their own. Nothing on the market did all of that well, so we built it.

Our mission

Famnly exists to reduce the mental load of family life. We believe that when every family member can see the shared schedule, contribute to planning, and stay informed through a single family calendar app, families communicate better, argue less about logistics, and spend more time on what matters.

Our goal is to make Famnly the default family organizer — the one app that replaces the group chat, the whiteboard calendar, and the spreadsheet vacation planner. We're not building another generic calendar. We're building the family planner that understands how real families actually coordinate.

Built in Sweden by flur-lab

Famnly is designed and developed by flur-lab, a small product studio based in Sweden. We focus on building thoughtful, well-crafted apps that solve real everyday problems. We care deeply about privacy, design, and building software that respects your time and attention.

Sweden has a strong tradition of family-friendly policies and work-life balance. That cultural perspective shapes how we think about Famnly — as a tool that supports the way families naturally want to organize, not one that adds more complexity to an already busy life.

What makes Famnly different

Most shared calendars treat families like small businesses. Famnly is designed specifically for families — with color-coded columns for each family member, dedicated features for chore tracking, grocery lists, meal planning, and vacation coordination. We sync with Google Calendar and Outlook so your work events appear alongside family events, all in one place.

Unlike generic calendar apps, Famnly gives every family member — including kids and pets — their own column in the weekly view. You can see at a glance who is doing what, when there are conflicts, and where there's free time. It's the family calendar experience that shared Google Calendars and Cozi can't provide.
